The story of a slave who mailed himself from Virginia to Philadelphia. Starring hip hop legend Karl “Dice Raw” Jenkins and directed by Phill Brown, Box uses theater as a tool for education and reeducation. Henry Box Brown was a slave who read and wrote poetry, practiced magic, sang in a church choir, and was a hypnotist. He performed all around the world and once freed, publicly expressed his political views.
